{hello, yellowbird.}

what's that you're drawing?

{four years, condensed}

Bits and pieces of work from my time at SPU*.

Library Installation, Winter 2009. Check out these bad boys. Each of them a good 3 1/2 feet long, made from insulation foam, wheat pasted and finished with high-gloss latex paint.

Fashion Illustration, Spring 2009. Preliminary design sketches. These were eventually finished with gouache and ink, but I actually like the concept work better.

Fall 2007. Logo for Falcon Newspaper that got used, but the inverse, I’m pretty sure.

*I’ll add to this post in a bit, when I have access to my school’s server.

{details, details}

As per request, I’m putting some detail shots of the portraits up:

[August]

[Dad]

[Gabrielle]

[Keelan]

[Maddy]

[Model for Figure]

All in oils; each represents about…30+ hours? Wish I’d had more time to spend with each of them, but that’s the nature of the beast, when you’re a student… It would be interesting to experiment with similar techniques using acrylics, I think. It would certainly cut the drying time.
